The IGH Sex and Gender Science Trainee Network

Background

The IGH Trainee Network is a network of trainees (undergraduate, master's, PhD and post-docs) across Canada with chapters at Canadian universities. It connects new and future researchers across the country who are interested and engaged in sex and gender science in health research.

The IGH Trainee Network functions in collaboration with, and with support from, IGH. The Network is aligned with the IGH mission to foster research excellence regarding the influence of sex and gender on health and to apply these findings to identify and address pressing health challenges facing men, women, girls, boys and gender-diverse people.

Update

17 November, 2025

The IGH Trainee Network is currently undergoing a restructure as we work to clarify the structure of the Network, enhance IGH's engagement with chapters, and create more opportunities for collaboration among members of the Trainee Network across Canada.

While we're in this transition phase, we're pausing the creation of new chapters. However, we will continue to support and process requests for existing active chapters.

We are excited about what's ahead and look forward to sharing updates soon. If you have any questions or would like to be notified when we will be ready to support the creation of new chapters, please get in touch at igh-isfh@cihr-irsc.gc.ca. You can also stay up to date by following us on LinkedIn and subscribing to our newsletter.
